Definition of Staff Appraisal module terms

1. Appraisal Cycle Period

This is the period for which the appraisal is being held. You do have the option to enter the Start (From) and End (To) Date for this. If both the date options are not showing up, kindly try refreshing the page and checking.

2. Process Period

This the period within which the appraisal is going to be conducted on the system. For example, if quarterly appraisals are being held in the company towards the end of every quarter, then the Appraisal Cycle Period would the Q1 (1st Jan - 31st Mar), whereas the Process Period would be something like 15th-31st March.

3. Self Appraisal Period

This is the period within which employees will be able to fill up the self-appraisal form on the system. Once the period has ended, no one will be able to submit their self-appraisal. This date will have to be extended in order to do so.

4. Self Appraisal Template

You can customise the self-appraisal form that is there on the system as this is the form that the employees will be filling out. Go to Settings > Customisation > Forms > Self-Appraisal to customise the same.

5. Review Period

This is the period within which the reviewers/appraisers will be evaluating the employees and filling out the performance appraisal form. The review period can only start after the self-appraisal period has ended.

6. Normalisation Period

You can choose to give a certain period after the self-appraisal/review has concluded so that meetings can be held offline, if necessary, to go through all the reviews, and make any changes on the system, if required. This period does not affect any aspect of the cycle on the system itself.

7. What is KRA

KRA stands for Key Result Area. Every designation/department may have certain key factors which are used to evaluate the performance of the employee in the designation/department that he/she is working in. These KRAs can be added into the system and then tagged to the employees through Performance > Settings > KRA. Once the KRAs are defined, and if you choose to include the KRA module in the appraisal cycle, then at the time of the self-appraisal and performance review, the employees and the appraisers can rate the KRA of the employee.
